Our Florida East Coast travel adventures take us from Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach, to the southernmost destination in the U.S., Exotic Key West!

  • Amelia Island Treasures...
Known as the “Isle of Eight Flags,” Amelia Island has had an amazing, interesting and tumultuous past, characterized by its diverse cast of Timucuan Indians, pirates, shrimpers, nobles and confederates.
  • Fernandina Beach Adventures...
Early on, the community of Fernandina Beach emerged as an important seaport, a legacy that today can be seen throughout its Victorian-era architecture and charming historic district.

Today, Amelia Island is home to Florida’s oldest continuously operating bar, the Palace Saloon, located within a sprawling 50-block area of homes and buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.

History enthusiasts will also have to visit Old Town, the last Spanish Town in the Western Hemisphere and the former Spanish Fort San Carlos.

  • Jacksonville Golf and Beach Adventures...
Jacksonville - the "Emerald City", is the site of the Tournament Players Golf Championship and the NCAA Gator Bowl. It also has a 25-mile stretch of wide open white sandy beaches.

  • St. Augustine (the oldest city) Exotic Adventures and Golf Vacations...
St. Augustine - boasts of being the oldest U.S. city - with Spanish towers, cathedrals, historic houses with red-roofed architecture, museums and archaeological ruins, including Fort San Marcos.
Did Ponce de Leon discover the fountain of youth here?
Avid golf fans know that the PGA Tournament Players Championship is played on the Sawgrass course in nearby Ponte Vedra Beach.

St. Augustine also has an Alligator Farm and a famous Lighthouse.

  • Palm Coast and Flagler Beach Adventures...
Venturing Southward again... We discover Marineland and Flagler Beach.

  • Daytona Racing...
Ormond Beach and Daytona, the Birthplace of Speed, home of the Daytona "500". We didn't have to travel far, since we lived "next door" in Ormond Beach for over 10 years.

Living in Ormond Beach, allowed us to enjoy short day trips, to St. Augustine, Silver Springs, Blue Springs State Park with the wintering manatees and nearby Kennedy Space Center with all its history, space vehicles and artifacts.

We enjoyed so much week long vacations like the one to South Beach, the Keys and southernmost city, exotic/romantic Key West.
  • NASA...
On several different occasions, from our back yard, we saw the fiery trail of the Space Shuttle on its way to the International Space Station. The Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, was just a short distance from our home. We enjoyed touring the Center, re-discovering the history of moon shot rockets and capsules, as well as seeing the modern Orbiter.

  • South Beach...
Our adventures would not have been complete without visiting exciting South Beach, with its beautiful people and exotic nightlife.

  • Key Largo...
On to exotic Key Largo, made famous by Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn in the 1951 movie "The African Queen". We enjoyed looking at and taking pictures of the film's original river boat.

  • Islamorada......
We spent a romantic relaxing evening on the beautiful island of Islamorada, enjoying a delightful, sumteous shrimp and fish dinner, looking out over the water at an absolutely gorgeous sunset.

  • On to Beautiful Marathon Key......
We stopped for a delicious lunch by the beach. Then we drove on to...

  • Key West......
It was so exciting to visit this quaint exotic city where Hemingway lived and wrote, and where presidents and celebreties have vacationed over the years.

We toured the town, enjoying the colorful atmosphere at Sloppy Joes, relaxing on the beach...

And of course taking pictures of the Southernmost Point. We enjoyed a wonderful vacation in Key West!
