Caribbean Adventures - Island Getaways...
Caribbean Adventures... Bridgetown, Barbados
Island Escapes...
Some say the Caribbean island of Barbados is more British than Britain. Here cricket is the national sport, afternoon tea goes without saying and motorists hug left. The friendly island spirit, local rum and fried flying fish are strictly Bajan!
Granada - the "Exotic Spice Island"
On leaving the pier, we toured the streets and shops of Old St. George's breathing in the wonderful, warm scents of exotic
spices that wafted through the air!
St. Thomas/St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands
St. Thomas...
In the quaint down-town district, we sampled duty-free shopping and then toured further, taking in panoramic views of classic Caribbean pastel-colored houses, which are just a few of the many charms of St. Thomas.
Sample shore excursions are: Coral World Ocean Park; Paradise Tram & St. Peter Greathouse; Pirate Sunset Sail on the Doubloon.
St.John... Just a 20-minute ferryboat ride from St. Thomas--her big, bustling, sister isle--St. John is a non-commercial, low-key treasure. We took a taxi from Charlotte Amalie, capital of St. Thomas, across the island to Red Hook; then a pleasant and beautiful ride across Pillisbury Sound to Cruz Bay on St. John.
Trunk Bay, with it's beautiful beach and crystal clear blue water was our next stop. Snorkeling and seeing fish and coral at depths of 20 feet or more was unforgetable!
