Adventure Travels... Ormond Beach To Key West
We enjoyed living in Ormond Beach on the Atlantic, just a 15-minute drive to the Speedway, home of the Daytona 500 and Pepsi (now Coke Zero) 400.
This gave us a "home-base" for many beautiful day trip excursions,
Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach
St. Augustine (the oldest city) and surroundings, Silver Springs in Ocala, the Kennedy Space Center, and exciting week-long vacations like the one to Key West.
- Coral Gables and South Beach...
On our way to Key West, we stopped over night in Coral Gables and visited famous South Beach.
Live the Adventure!
The island gained fame as the setting for the 1948 Humphrey Bogart-Lauren Bacall film Key Largo, although it was filmed entirely on a Warner Brothers sound stage in Hollywood.[3] The island's post office in Rock Harbor, which had been named after a nearby cove, changed its name to Key Largo after the film's success and pressure from local businessmen. It did this so that everyone living north of Tavernier would have a Key Largo address and the cancellation would say Key Largo instead of Rock Harbor
